Peace is not the opposite of conflict between opposing forces, it is a state balance between seemingly opposing forces. In fact well managed conflict can actually produce highly effective creative tensions that lead to collaboration. The balance of peace in the context of an organization integrates many layers of individual's experiences including identities, gifts and challenges. When space is made for these layer of experience to be known and understood, individuals can act from knowing themselves and have themselves be known in their respective collective environments. This level of raw authenticity dismantles shame and fear, the mechanisms that most often move people into to conflict and out of collaboration.
